This Halloween Chili is perfect for warming up your Halloween night. Even better, it’s packed with veggies and will fuel your family for a fun night of trick-or-treating!

I absolutely love to create food traditions with my family. There’s just something about making a special day or holiday even more special with food that will bring back memories.

Some of my favorite food traditions are Christmas Morning Rolls, Easter Sherbet Bars, Birthday Donuts, and many more! Halloween is a favorite holiday and one where I love to be extra creative. From the decorations to the costumes to the food – it’s just the best, amiright?

As long as I can remember, chili was our Halloween night dinner. It’s hearty, comforting, and can be made “spooky”! It was such a great recipe that I’ve continued the tradition with my own kids.

What’s great about this recipe is it’s full of hidden vegetables that will counterbalance all of that Halloween candy!

Some years I serve this chili in cornbread cups. Simply make some cornbread muffins (I use Trader Joe’s cornbread mix), hollow out the center with a spoon, and pour your chili inside. It’s like a savory cupcake and the kids love it!

I use my perfect healthy chili recipe, but you can use whatever chili recipe you like. It makes for the best Halloween chili on a cold Fall evening and if you happen to have leftovers, that’s even better. Say hello to quick and easy meals — I’m talking about chili loaded baked potatoes, chili dogs, chili mac, navajo tacos, or taco salads. Yummy!

What to serve kids for Halloween dinner?

Along with this chili, I love to make some other spooky recipes. Check out these other food ideas for Halloween night.

Halloween Drink:

Try out this easy Halloween punch for kids! It’s only a couple ingredients and you can serve them in these chemistry jars or glasses. I top them with some cotton candy and some spooky gummy candies and it’s like a science experiment in a cup!

Halloween Desserts:

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Candy Corn…… This candy corn is so much healthier than store bought candy corn, plus it’s delicious! A lot of store bought candy corn tastes like flavored wax, but not this candy corn! The fun part is you can color and flavor them however you like to create a fun treat for the kids.

I even like to make them for all the other holidays. For Christmas I color them green, white, and red and flavor them with peppermint extract. For Valentines Day I use red, pink, and white colors and flavor them with strawberry extract. Seriously, the possibilities are endless!

Another great treat to make for the kids are these caramel apple pops. I slice apples into 1/2-inch slices, place a popsicle stick in the bottom, and top them with melted chocolate and caramel. Kids have so much fun adding sprinkles or Halloween inspired candy.

Halloween Sides:

A great side dish is letting the kids make their own stuffed potatoes. Set out an array of toppings for them to fill their potato skins with and then bake in the oven until the cheese is melted. So. Easy. So. Delicious.
