Brazilian limeade (lemonade) only has 4 ingredients and is light, refreshing, and citrusy. Creamier than a traditional limeade, it’s the perfect drink for a summer BBQ or an outdoor gathering. This recipe couldn’t be easier, too!
Many of you might have heard of Brazilian limeade (or lemonade) and have even tried it before. If this drink sounds new to you, I’m here to introduce you a most delicious beverage I just know you’re going to love!
Believe it or not, I hadn’t ever tried Brazilian limeade until a dear friend, who happens to be from Brazil, made it for one of our couples game night. Friends, I was hooked!
What is Brazilian Limeade?
Brazilian limeade is a traditional drink from Brazil. It is typically make with whole limes, water, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Limeade is served cold, and I know you’re just going to love it for the upcoming summer months (and longer!)!
Brazilian Limeade Ingredients:
This recipe only needs 4 ingredients. Talk about an easy drink recipe that can serve a crowd!
- Water – one of two main ingredients, but not the star of the show!
- Limes – with or without the rind and pith, this is so refreshing
- Sugar – adds the perfect amount of sweet
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – provides a sweet creaminess
While you’re grabbing the limeade ingredients, grab the ingredients for Coconut Crusted Cedar Plank Salmon with Mango Salsa or my Instant Pot Baby Back Ribs Recipe. This drink pairs perfectly when both!
Can I use premade limeade?
Yes, you definitely can make pre-made limeade. I recommend a fresh version, like the Simply Limeade brand.
How can I make limeade less bitter?
Brazilian limeade can become bitter the more it sits. This is because whole limes are used to make the drink. You can remove the rind and pith to make it less bitter.
To do so, take a paring knife and peel the limes. If I plan to make this for a gathering, I will remove the rinds and piths because the drink will be sitting out, and no one wants a bitter limeade.
If you do not peel the limes, the limeade is best served fresh, right away.
