This kids New Years Eve party is perfect for a quick and easy way to ring in the New Year with your kids.

food board for a kids new years eve partyFor some reason I want to make this New Years Eve extra special for my kids and this easy kids New Years Eve party is a fun way to ring in the new year.

This has been a fun family tradition in the past and a way we love to celebrate New Year Eve. I especially love how easy it is to pull off. Let’s face it we have all been cooking since Thanksgiving. Although I love to cook and entertain, sometimes you just need something really easy.

That’s why I head to my nearest Trader Joe’s, buy all the fun appetizer finger foods and desserts that my kids like and plan a snack board dinner.

It’s the perfect way to celebrate. Especially since all the kids want to do is try to stay up until midnight. Which also means they ask for snacks every 5 minutes.

If you need a quick and easy way to celebrate ringing in the new year try this kids new years eve party.

Kids New Years Eve Party Plan:

Food:

First up in the game plan is food. I like to keep it easy and buy pre-made snacks or appetizers that I know my kids will enjoy.

I bought everything at Trader Joe’s for this years’ party, but you can head to any store to find what you like. Even Walmart or Target will have what you need.

From the Freezer Section:

Utilize the freezer section! Just pop the items in the oven and you have dinner ready to go. It makes this dinner extra special for my kids by having all of their favorites on one night. No other day do they get all of this on the same night! Here are some of our favorites.

  • Frozen Mini Pizzas
  • Mozzarella Sticks
  • Mac and Cheese Bites
  • Pigs in A Blanket
  • Chicken Tenders
  • Chicken Wings
  • Soft Pretzels

Fruits/Vegetables:

With all that frozen food, I like to balance it out with fresh fruits and vegetables. These are some of my favorites, but feel free to grab what you know your kids will like.

  • Cuties
  • Blueberries
  • Grapes
  • Strawberries
  • Carrots
  • Broccoli
  • Celery
  • Watermelon
  • Cauliflower
  • Mushrooms
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Cherry Tomatoes

Snack Items:

It is also fun to have a variety of different snacks on hand to keep those munchies under wraps.

  • Vegetable chips
  • Veggie Straws
  • Popcorn
  • Pretzels
  • Nuts
  • Trail Mix
  • Goldfish
  • Chips

Dessert:

Dessert is even more fun (in my opinion) because you can really include anything your kids like. Make it themed by choosing a color palate or choose a candy choice like “everything sour”.

Here are some of my favorite dessert ideas.

  • Chocolate Covered Pretzels
  • Caramels
  • Gummy Candies
  • Chocolates
  • Chocolate Star Cookies
  • Meringues
  • Letter Cookies
  • Mini Cookies
  • Mini Ice Cream Cones

Games:

Next up are the games. We love to play games with the kids and it helps them to stay up. Here are some of our favorite games we like to play, but this will depend on your kids ages as well.

Some other ideas are to build a complex lego set or a 1,000 piece puzzle together.
