Homemade Gluten Free Teriyaki:

Teriyaki, derived from the Japanese words “teri” (shine) and “yaki” (grill or broil), is a cooking technique that involves grilling or broiling food with a glaze of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar.

This sweet and savory combination has become a global culinary phenomenon, and one of its shining stars is the Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry.

Four our homemade gluten free version we only use four ingredients Bragg aminos, water, brown sugar and ginger. For the people with celiac disease make sure all ingredients are labeled gluten free.

What Meat To Use For Teriyaki Beef Stir Fry:

When it comes to making a delicious gluten free Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry, the choice of meat is crucial for achieving the right balance of flavor and texture.

I use top sirloin for this recipe but here are some other popular choices you can use for Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry:

Flank Steak:

  • Flank steak is a popular choice for stir-fries due to its lean nature and affordability. It has a robust flavor and a slightly chewy texture, making it a great candidate for absorbing the rich teriyaki sauce.

Sirloin Steak:

  • Sirloin steak is another excellent option for Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry. It’s tender, flavorful, and offers a good balance of marbling. While it may be slightly more expensive than flank steak, the tenderness and juiciness it brings to the dish can be worth the investment. This is what I use for this recipe.

Top Sirloin or Tri-Tip:

  • These cuts are flavorful and tender, making them suitable for stir-fries. They are often more marbled than lean cuts, adding richness to the dish.

Skirt Steak:

  • Skirt steak is a thin and flavorful cut that works well in stir-fries. It cooks quickly and can absorb the teriyaki flavors effectively.

Thinly Sliced Ribeye:

  • Ribeye, known for its marbling and tenderness, can be thinly sliced for a luxurious take on Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry. This cut brings a rich and buttery flavor to the dish.

Chicken or Pork:

  • While traditionally made with beef, you can also use chicken or pork for a variation. Chicken thighs or pork tenderloin are excellent choices. Adjust the cooking time accordingly to ensure the meat is cooked through without losing its tenderness.

Bragg Aminos: You can find this at most grocery stores now. If you need to substitute you can use coconut aminos. This is a naturally gluten free replacement for soy sauce.

Brown Sugar: This adds a delicious sweetness to the homemade teriyaki sauce.

Ginger: Use fresh or frozen minced ginger.

Rice: You can use white rice or brown rice.

Mini Bell Peppers: You can also use whole bell peppers of any color.

Sesame Seeds: You can use black sesame seeds or white.

Corn Starch: This is a thickening agent. You can also use arrowroot for another gluten free option.
