Ingredients For Caprese Flatbread:
Flatbread Or focaccia bread: I love the store bought cheese focaccia at Trader Joe’s for this recipe. The cheese adds some extra flavor and it’s one less item you have to buy. Some other options that would work great are olive focaccia, or any type of flatbread. Even naan bread would work great!
Arugula: Arugula is one of my favorite greens. It adds a little pepperiness and vibrant green to the flatbread.
Heirloom tomatoes: Heirloom tomatoes are so much more flavorful than any other tomatoes in my opinion. You can buy large tomatoes and cut them into wedges or dice them or buy the mini heirlooms and cut them in half. The different colors of the fresh tomato add so much beauty to the dish.
Burrata cheese: Burrata cheese is soft cream centered cows milk cheese made in Italy. It adds a delicious creaminess to the dish. You can substitute fresh mozzarella cheese if you can’t find it.
Balsamic glaze: The drizzle of balsamic glaze adds a delicious tangy sweetness to the caprese flatbread. I buy it at Trader Joe’s, but you can also find it now in many grocery stores.
Fresh Basil: Totally optional, but adding some fresh basil just makes these flatbreads even better!
How To Make Caprese Flatbread:
Here are the simple steps to make this flatbread.
Place the flatbread on a foil lined baking sheet and warm in a 350 F oven for 5-7 minutes or until warmed through.
Top the flatbread with arugula, tomatoes and burrata.
Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, Maldon salt and fresh cracked pepper. Lastly drizzle with balsamic and top with fresh basil.
Cut the flatbread into large squares and serve.

Fig and Prosciutto: Spread a flatbread with a thin layer of fig jam, top with prosciutto, and Italian mixed cheese and broil until cheese has melted. Top with fresh arugula.
Pepper and Sausage: Top a flatbread with thinly sliced sausages, bell peppers, Italian cheese and broil until cheese has melted.
BBQ Chicken: Toss some rotisserie chicken with BBQ sauce. Top a flatbread with the chicken mixture, and some Italian cheese blend. Broil until cheese has melted. Top with pickled red onions and cilantro.
Buffalo Chicken: Toss some rotisserie chicken with buffalo sauce. Top a flatbread with the chicken mixture, and some Italian cheese blend. Broil until cheese has melted. Top with pickled red onion and cilantro.
